This is an excellent option for members who are unable to commit to a weekly scheduled house league match.
Tuesday & Friday Nights - Drop In Group Play Squash
Group Play is for any monthly paying member who wants to sign up and drop in to play squash against other members who attend. Games are geared to the abilities of the players who attend, and this is a great opportunity to meet other players in the club for recreational squash and exercise. Players get to play others from various levels to pick up tips and get a great workout. This is a great time for socializing, improving your fitness and allows mentoring with other players.
Tournaments
We offer various tournaments: Team tournaments, Squash Ontario Open, Year End Champion, Calcutta or Shoe. Ontario Open tournaments are open to all Ontario players and beyond. You don't have to be a member of our club to play and prizes can be won. The Calcutta tournament plays with a handicap to level the playing field of all level of players. The Shoe tournament aims to teach "good length" shots by aiming and getting points for hitting the shoe placed strategically near the back corners of the court. The Club Champion tournament finds out the club champions on both A & B levels but door prizes are also awarded.
Squash 57
Squash 57, originally known as Racquetball, is a form of squash played on a squash court that has grown significantly in popularity in England and has begun to take hold elsewhere around the world. In 2016, the World Squash Federation, in partnership with England Squash, spearheaded an initiative to re-brand the name of the game, which is played with a larger ball and a shorter racket. The new name focuses on the key difference to squash – the larger ball, which has a maximum diameter of 57mm (compared with 40mm for a squash ball). The game is a popular introduction to squash and can keep generations of players fit, active, and playing on court well into later years. Clarington Squash Club offers Squash57 racquets, balls and goggles to borrow from the front desk. Ask maintenance staff to access the tall cabinet and return after each play session. Lots of fun!
