Abbreviated Code of Conduct:
Always:
1. Arrive on time.
2. Call opponent to schedule or reschedule with ample time.
3. Wear safety goggles.
4. Shake hands before and after the match.
5. Offer “lets” or “strokes” when you obstruct play.
6. Call your own double bounces, out-of-court shots, tins and carries.
7. Compromise with a “let” when in dispute.
8. Be gracious in victory and defeat.
9. Respect your opponent and the game.
10. Encourage those who fail to adhere to these commandments to do so.
Never:
11. Hit a bad shot, and then ask for a “let”.
12. Fail to clear without offering a “stroke” to your opponent.
13. Call lets when you are out of range or unprepared.
14. Orchestrate “lets” when unable to reach a shot.
15. Employ an excessive swing, and neglect to reduce it.
16. Leave the court without thanking your opponent.
17. Use profanity or shout loudly.
18. Fail to vacate a court that has been reserved by another.
19. Abuse courts or racquets.
20. Make excuses for poor play.
